Solimán López

Solimán López (Burgos, 1981) is a new media conceptual artist whose practice focuses on the intersection of art, science, technology, ecology, biotechnology, quantum and future humanities. His work investigates the role of emerging technologies in reshaping human identity, culture, and environmental consciousness.

López is the founder of the Harddiskmuseum, a digital art collection entirely stored on a single hard drive with more than 150 participants, questioning traditional systems of preservation and access to cultural content. This Museum becomes the first one stored in DNA in 2019. He also created the OLEA Biotoken, a project that integrates biotechnology and blockchain by embedding encrypted data in DNA into olive oil, bridging cultural heritage and digital innovation. Additionally, he is the author of the Manifesto Terricola, which advocates for ecological transition and planetary consciousness, and the founder of the Museo Pineal, a bioart-focused institution in the Amazon that preserves environmental DNA and indigenous knowledge through artistic research. This project has been launched with the artwork Capside.

Solimán has also founded the ESAT LAB Innovation at the Escuela Superior de Arte y Tecnología (ESAT) in Valencia, Spain, where he developed part of his artworks. He is also Artist-in-Research at Institute for Future Technologies (IFT) in the Pôle Léonard de Vinci and the co-founder of the Art&Science De Vinci Foundation with projects involving quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and nanotechnology applied to the arts.

As the Artistic Ambassador for Xpanse, López has contributed to shaping the integration of art into dialogues about future societies, technological challenges, and ecological solutions.
